Dr. Schowalter is kind, patient and collaborative. I have not felt dismissed or disregarded ever. The complaints in some of the reviews are almost entirely due to the way our health care system is managed and reimbursed. Doctors and health care professionals are under tremendous pressure from corporate interest in profit. Blame the system not the Doc. From a retired RN with 45 years in the trenches.
Dismissed my concerns and was extremely condescending. By the time the visit was over, I felt leaving horrible about myself and that my issue I originally came in for was not taken seriously at all or resolved. Only scheduled with her as a last choice since Dr Bivens is out at the moment. I will never make that mistake again. I should have just gone to urgent care.
Dr. Showalter is a breath of fresh air. She is kind, professional and she takes time to listen and explain things. She actually cares about the person in front of her. I have been her patient for just over a year. She has encouraged and helped me quit drinking, lose weight, lower my A1C and found my RA. I am now living a healthier and happier life because of her. Save yourself time, money & your mental health - do not see this woman! She's rude, lacks basic social skills,& doesn't even make up for it by being brilliant. She's not. She is wildly unprofessional and not just a little racist. I'm guessing she barely graduated. Just don't with her.
I had decent experiences with Dr. Schowalter, until I was dealing with a more serious medical situation. I had lost consciousness, convulsed, and couldn't speak for 1.5 hours and needed to do a follow up visit with my PCP. In the 1.5 weeks I waited to get in (it was during the Franciscan systems issue and no one would call me back for an appointment until I escalated the issue), I had a bunch of weird physical symptoms.
