Visiting my family from interstate, I booked an appointment online to see GP for new onset RUQ abdo pain. I saw that there were plenty available and tried avoid unnecessary presentation to ED. Cynthia called shortly after and advised that they would not give me the available appointment because I’m a ‘new patient’. How can we take pressure off the overwhelmed ED, when some GPs choose to behave like this?!
