Dr. Lam’s office refused to see our 13-day-old daughter because we had a home birth and did not give her the vitamin K shot. The staff simply said he does not accept patients who decline it and offered no option to even speak with the doctor. We live on the far north shore of Kauai where medical services are already extremely limited, so being turned away from pediatric care for choosing a home birth feels especially unfair. Dr. Jesse and Dr. Sarah - the doctors Lam - and their staff are absolutely stellar. They're lifelong Kauai residents (less time on the mainland for college, med school, and training) and have children of their own so they know the community inside and out and are active members of it. I have 3 boys, ages are 4,8 &13. They have been seeing both Dr. Lam’s since birth or early childhood. I am so thankful to have them centrally located. My boys love them. The staff is super helpful, professional and friendly. We love Kapaa Pediatrics! 🌟 Grateful Mama🌟
