RecommendedFreshest, most delicious sushi 🍣. Great staff, wonderful beverage selection, fun hip atmosphere. I love Kanpai and highly recommend going there.
When visiting the Central Coast, I used to like to eat at Izakaya Raku in Grover Beach, but my parents (who live in Grover Beach) stopped going because they no longer liked the quality nor the service. Mystery solved: the former owner and some staff now are at Kanpai Sushi. We recognized our server, who remembered us also. It was nice to experience the quality and service we had grown accustomed to before. Others have noticed also, so reservations are highly recommended as dinner hours are usually packed.
Our 3rd visit. Spicy seafood ramen is a favorite. Sesame chicken was spit on, well cooked, great flavor. If you like slightly unusual choices try the green tea cheesecake. It is a small portion but just the right amount. Finally they have a good size sale menu plus the red rice ale was delicious,
Great food great atmosphere!
Good sushi place - with GF options and a very patient sushi chef (yep, I watched). Nice on a warm day/ night, but risks draftiness on a too-cool night - but the booths don’t have this issue. Reservation suggested, but hazard a walk-in - solid food and service.
Great staff, fast service and extremely fresh fish. It is our must stop at place on our way into town when we come to visit!
