Absolutely Fabulous! – I've lived in Virginia Beach my whole, long life. Lots of good restaurants, very few great ones. This sushi place is unlike all others in the greater Hampton Roads area. It's clean, smells fresh (not of old fish), the ambiance is great (they usually play JAZZ music), service is fabulous as is the food. The ONE & ONLY place to get authentic Japanese food! – Sushi is an art ladies and gentlemen! And as such it is only expected that the suhi chef's take special care in creating dishes that are aesthetically appealing. And this takes time! Best sushi in Hampton Roads for the price – The sushi is the freshest I've had around here. My wife and I go for both our birthday's, our anniversary, or just because! Being from the west coast, my wife and I expect, above all, for the sushi to be fresh and tasty in its simplest form. Many places around here have tons of gimmicky rolls with everything in them including fried items! (hecch!) but when it comes to a good piece of fresh sashimi or a quality hand roll, they fall short. Not worth it!! – Very thin strips of fish, over priced, poor slow service, would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!! I don't normally write reviews, but I thought people should know.
Food is good - service is SLOW – We had (as a group of 5) gone there for lunch a few times, but today?s service was the worst. It took about 20 minutes of sitting in this small restaurant before we even had our order taken. Then to top it of there was a table of Asian gentlemen (about 10 of them) who came in after us and we served way before us. Don't let the store front fool you. – As a frequent visitor to Sushi joints around the nation I found myself in Norfolk with the craving and as usual I jumped to citysearch to find a place to go. Most resturants you can tell almost right away by pulling into the parking lot wether or not you have made a good decision on your choice of chow for the night but not here. Amazing! – I was sad to see this low rating, to me it is just a 10! I can't stay away, I come here each week for dinner. A must to order is the Tuna Cappricio, the Tuna is sliced perfectly, it's like butter in your mouth, it is soaked in Ponzu sauce, a sprinkle of Kosher salt and topped w/pinenuts. I have a couple of favorite rolls which are the Crazy monkey and the Viva Las Vegas.
