most of the time great food – im not just sayign this because i used to live near them. they do have good sushi. when i was younger i didnt like sushi at all. but after a while i started to get a acquired taste. (japanese roommates) and really they are one of the best sushi places you can go to in seattle. americanized or japanese it doesnt matter. they are good. most of their other food is pretty good. too if you arent sushi buffs. they make a good yakisoba is no matter what you want. chicken or beef. their teriyaki is good... read more

The most overlooked Japanese restaurant in West Seattle – Over the past 5 or so years I have eaten here often for lunch. One of my favorites is the chicken udon (soup), it is the most flavorful you'll find among the three Japanese restaurants in the West Seattle Junction. The same is true of the chicken yakisoba; flavors are outstanding. The have recently redecorated with a very pleasant warmth. Very nice people make this a winner in my book.

GREAT SUSHI, GREAT PRICE!! – I stop by this place whenever I get the chance. The prices are great, and so is the sushi. It's ran by a great family who is friendly, open, and easy to get to know. It's in a great location with bars, shops, and cute cafes within walking distance. I love sushi, so when I go to a sushi restaurant I usually only order nigiri or rolls, but this place also has fabulous yakisoba!! It's actually my favorite place to get yakisoba and the prices are incredibly low. Stop by and give it a try if you get t... read more

Our favorite spot for sushi – The food and service are unbeatable at Kamei. The family who owns and operates Kamei are the nicest people and the food is delicious. We first discovered this West Seattle jewel about 4 years ago and it has been our favorite place for sushi ever since. Having eaten at many japenese restaurants, thats saying alot. Everything that we've tried on the menu has been great, some of the standouts for us are the Red Dragon roll and the Spicy Hamachi roll. Delicious! All of our friends that we have intro... read more

Consistent good food and fair prices! – This is a warm family run restaurant. The owners have always been hands on and with a smile on their face provide good food at very accomodating prices. My favorite is their tonkatsu/ tempura combination. The salad which comes with is adorned with a tasty asian dressing. The miso soup is predictably good and includes tofu and seaweed. I especially enjoy the presentation bento box which includes sides of tonkatsu sauce and tempura sauce. They are also very generous with the sliced cabba... read more

The BEST Sushi in West Seattle – This place is a find! Family run, always busy, yet you never have to wait very long for a table. The daily specials change and unfailingly they are always excellent. Don't be afraid to try something new and don't be afraid to ask questions. Sit at the bar and watch the sushi chef practice his art. It's a treat.

Love it! – Having moved to Alki from the Eastside...I was on my hunt to find my new local sushi bar to replace I Love Sushi, Rikki Rikki and Sushiman. So...I tried Mashiko first....over priced and very poor service. My 20 yr old daughter even complained and she rarely complains about sushi when it's free! Then I tried Kamei.....I never tried anywhere else since and that was year ago. The service is very attentive at this family run business and the food is wonderful. I always start with the Tako Su that is made in a very gen... read more
