Kamehachi is Japanese for 'eight turtles' - a symbol of long life and good luck. This urbane restaurant offers the standard Japanese fare, which includes dishes like Tempura Udon, Ten Zaru Soba, and Yaki Udon; it also features a massive sushi bar. All in all, it provides you with the opportunity to explore authentic flavors and styles in a very contemporary setting!

Where's the fish – My wife and I recently dined at Kamehachi in Northbrook, and we left just shocked and confused. Horrible sushi but great service – I am a big fan of Chicago sushi places like Bluefin, Coast, and Tsunami and I have seen great reviews for Kamehachi (probably one of the only few places I have not tried yet) and always wanted to stop by. Well, after spending some time shopping at Northbrook Court one afternoon, my best friend and I decided to skip our usual suburban sushi solution, Sushi Kaya in Skokie, and just head to Kamehachi that was just minutes away from the mall. Wonderful – For sushi it just don't get better than this. Even better made sushi than most places i've been to in Japan.
One of the best Sushi places in Northern Burbs – Excellent service and wonderful sushi. The menu is packed with sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese entrees. Service is friendly and helpful for those not familiar with Japanese cuisine.
Before it was hip to eat sushi, this place was already happening. – In Short The expansive menu offers a hefty selection of maki and combination rolls, from spicy tuna maki to Chicago Crazy Roll, a tasty mouthful of yellowtail, tuna and fresh salmon. Other must-try items include soft-shell crab, edamame, cold green-tea noodles and broiled, salt-encrusted clams with lemon-soy dipping sauce.
Kamehachi has a 4.4 star rating with 482 reviews.
Kamehachi is closed now. It will open on Monday at 9:00 a.m.
