I was recently seen by Dr Shaw for pain in my left thumb and had the worst experience I have ever had with a Scripps specialist. He provided a total of three different diagnoses for my thumb pain, then gave me two injections of cortisone, a $108.00 overpriced simple thumb brace, and a referral for therapy with a hand specialist. How is anyone to know what is working and how well with cortisone, a brace and therapy simultaneously? Would I consider having him perform surgery on me? Not in this lifetime. I could not trust him.
I broke my R wrist, falling on my e-bike and my initial first thought was “I hope I don’t need surgery “. I was referred to Dr Shah and I feel that I could not of ended up with a better orthopedic surgeon. His follow up care was excellent and always willing to listen to any concerns I had. In hindsight, I am glad my wrist injury was surgically repaired. I didn’t have to wear a cast for an extended period and was able to start physical therapy the following week.
