We really enjoyed our stay at the Kalispell Grand! Everyone there was helpful and polite. The breakfast was wonderful - as were the freshly baked cookies and popcorn in the evening. The location was fantastic - right in downtown Kalispell with great restaurants and breweries (HIGHLY recommend Bingo Night at Bias Brewing) in esay walking distance. Great historic place to stay in Kalispell.
Noisy street racing from 9 PM to 1 am . YOu will hear everything happening on the street through the low quality single pane windows. Extremely loud floors - the creeking from upstairs awoke me up at 4:30 AM. We had to move from the second to to top floor. Desk staff attempted to demand parking fee despite the fact that the reservation through 1-800 number guaranteed free parking. (Hey news flash: Kalispell is not Vegas!) Like other “classic” hotels, the rooms are quaint and plumbing is older. Great lobby with cookies and popcorn starting at 7 pm. Parking in convenient lot out back. Great downtown location.
I found that this Grand Hotel was nothing more than an expensive shell. Although the location and public areas are impressive, I would say that the rooms are no more than a cheap motel with an outrageous price tag. I certainly expect some decent accommodations for $300 price tag. Although I appreciate the historical value, ultimately, being able to rest comfortably is a huge priority.
