My mother went to the pharmacy to acquire a blood sugar monitor after hers broke. The first pharmacist who interacted with my mother told her to call her doctor because “she could not do anything”. Upon calling the Kaiser call center first thing they ask is why the pharmacy did not send in a request. We are upset that the pharmacists did not communicate any further options and instead dismissed my mother of the urgency of her situation.
