The phlebotomist tourniquets my arm and then got up and walked away from her station and then grabbed her supplies and was setting up as my arm is still in a tourniquet. After she finally sets up and start to take my draw she is super slow and I start to feel lightheaded. I ask if she is almost done and she replies with a sigh and says yeah your flow is really slow…I tell her I feel lightheaded and hot. She asks me if I should stop and I said yes. I experienced medical gaslighting. Not only was I told that severe pain, grinding, clicking and swelling is normal for artificial knee joints, my very real and debilitating symptoms that are keeping me from functioning and working were dismissed. Dr.Sone said, and I quote "We are close in age, I'm only a few years older than you and I can tell you that if I was on hormones, Enbrel and adhd meds, I would feel horrible every day also." In all my years as a Kaiser patient, Dr Kuo has always been very professional and compassionate. I’ve never felt as if I’m on an assembly line, which has been the case many years ago. Dr Kuo takes a patient centered approach to healthcare; he’s kind and he’s a great listener. I never felt as if my concerns were dismissed. Kaiser needs more doctors like Dr Kuo!!!
