We've been going to Kai Zan since they've opened and every meal is an amazing experience. I recommend the omakase if you want to try the best of the best. Sit at the sushi bar for the optimal dining experience. Order some sake and let the brothers guide you through your best meal ever.
My first time at Kai Zan was 4 years ago today. Since I’ve relocated to Hawaii where the fish is so fresh, but still, when I visit Chicago, I book a reservation at Kai Zan before I book a hotel. If you can afford it and are an adventurous eater, go for the premium omakase, totally worth it! We love to sit at the bar with Carlo and Marvin. Their crew is friendly, hard-working and always remembers us.
Fantastic Sushi and really good service
Mouth watering brilliant. I could not recommend Kai Zan more highly. Easily the best Sushi I have ever tasted.
OMG! The sashimi course at the end of our omakase meal broke my heart because I was too full to enjoy it. And they served 12 gorgeous slices of top notch hamachi, maguro and namasake. Their madai is the best madai I ever tasted. I can't wait to go back and enjoy their sashimi!
The Omakase is Omazing, from start to finish, each course is sublime and beautiful. Even the desserts are outstanding. Great service and warm welcoming atmosphere. Taxi or Uber over as parking nearby is tough.
Kai Zan is truly one of the best sushi restaurants in the entire world. The owners and staff are amazing people. They are creative, humble and extremely knowledgeable about their craft. Cheers to Kai Zan and those of you that get the chance to experience it for yourselves.
The Omakase is a must! Miso soup was the best any family member had enjoyed. The next five courses kept improving the experience. Kai Zan, or perhaps kaizen, is true to their name!
