Wouldn't stay here again - the check in process with their valet under construction (and apparently no accessible options to self park) was bad. We drove around for 10min trying to figure out where to go. Some of the amenities listed online don't exist yet. There's just not a lot here you won't get at any Marriott. No idea how it is "5 star" - it's just fine... If you're going to be downtown, aim for the Marquis instead. Edit: my wife asked me to add their room service only has rose and champagne which is... basic

To Marriott Management, I am extremely disappointed with the experience I had at your property on the night of 5/22 around 9:50 PM. After driving four hours for work as a private chauffeur, I arrived expecting to check in and rest for the night. The guests I was traveling with successfully used their card without issue. I am extremely disappointed by my experience at the JW Marriott Houston. Last night I arrived in Houston after driving nearly four hours transporting two individuals from Dallas. Upon arrival, I checked in and swiped my card for $472. Although the front desk clerk stated the transaction “did not go through,” the funds were immediately removed from my bank account.
