Dr. Walker and his entire staff are incredible. We went to Dr. Walker for a 2nd opinion after being told by another local surgeon that amputation was the only fix. Dr. Walker explained several different options to us and took the time to make sure we understood all our options. After 6 weeks of treatment/care from Dr. Walker, his team and the awesome occupational therapists with UNC Health Caldwell's therapy team, optimal healing has occurred with no need for amputation. He canceled my surgery when I asked for pain medication. He was unprepared for my first surgery and did a terrible job but I have Medicaid so I was stuck being referred to him for surgery on my other hand. I asked for something for pain and he canceled my surgery 3 days before I was supposed to have it. His office and he will treat you like a junkie if you’re in pain. The amount of scar tissue and the scar he left are also ridiculous, that pic is the site a year later.
BEWARE: He was unprepared for my first surgery and did a terrible job. He butchered my hand. When I asked for something for pain he canceled my other hand surgery. Unprofessional, unprepared, unreliable 👎🏻
Went in for a bad shoulder. Now my wrist is messed up as well. Thanks for making me worse. Thanks for withholding pain medication. Thanks for not caring!
Staff here are constantly being trained, can’t call you when he gets thrown in surgery. They always say they called, but they never did. I’ve verified my phone number over ten times. After two weeks of requesting help, I am going somewhere else. Maybe they will care to help me. He dang sure doesn’t take women seriously.
