I've been going to Dr. Rufener for years and he's always been pretty awesome. He takes care of my ears and is always personable, professional and nice.
LAZY and Careless WORST ENT doctor ever! I went with my Mom for her follow up check up. After looking at her left Ear, My Mom complained of throat discomfort and Dr. Rufener did not even bother to look at it. He then said "you have to book another appointment for it!" I was like.... You are indeed a ENT (Ears,Nose,THROAT) Doctor, it will not take even 5 minutes to assess her throat. I am a Nurse and i can tell he was very dismissive and no care at all. Very disappointed.
Dr Rufener was professional and an excellent surgeon. He made me feel like I was in good hands and the procedure went off without a hitch! Would highly recommend!
Dr. Rufener couldn't have cared less about me. He sat down & said, "So what seems to be the problem?" It left me wondering how far back I needed to go with my problem & left me wondering if he had read any of the info prior to the appointment. Generally, a doc will give me a summary of what they know & go from there. He dismissed all of my concerns & essentially said that this is my life now & that I need to get used to it, that all I have is inflammation (13 years post-surgery [that he didn't do]?) & to add steroids to my s... read more

Dr. Rufener was great! He was very friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all of my questions. He was very thorough and even followed up to make sure I didn’t have any additional questions. Highly recommend!!
I had a similar experience to what others have mentioned. He was so dismissive and checked out. He quickly peeked in each ear then sat back in his chair, shrugged his shoulders and said "yeah, I don't know. Everything looks normal". I actually laughed out loud because it was so absurd I thought he was joking with me. He wasn't. I tried to give him some history about how the ringing came about, under what circumstances I can manipulate the sounds or make it momentarily stop... he just kept saying "everything looks normal" and... read more

Not thrilled with the doctor and only spent about 5 seconds looking at the problem. Didn't provide the information or recommendations needed, only some ambitious answers that amount to nothing. No bedside manner or interest. Just going through the motions.
Always a great experience
Seemed very competent spent a lot of time explain options. Suggested trying some non- invasive options first which is always my preference.
