If you are looking for something different The Jupiter City Motel & Lounge is it. I never had the pleasure of knowing the junky pre-Jupiter Hotel but I can only imagine. It has been totally redone to a retro style. The rooms are VERY small but that's OK, you won't spend much time in it if you're in Portland. The inside of the door has been coated with chalkboard paint so you can leave a message behind. The lounge features up and coming Portland bands as well as out of town acts.
