The whole time my child was there we did not hear from a provider. We expressed our concerns with our child's behaviors on fearing for the safety of our family and was always being told what we were doing wrong as parents. For example, we were told that we should not confront the child's lies, even if the intent was to harm others, and just be supportive. Juniper Haven is extremely helpful, especially for someone who is similar to me and struggles with emotional distress. Everyday, I think about this experience and how difficult it was for me and my family and boyfriend; it is definitely not the place most teenage girls want to be, but you have to keep trusting In yourself, the staff and the therapists. I do not recommend. They are bad at communicating with the family. My child was self-harming and they did not call or email and notify me. The facility was not kept clean. We visited at noon and breakfast dishes were still sitting out on the tables. We were told we could visit our child for the afternoon, they let her go outside the facility with us, without signing her out or verifying who we were. They had staff working one-on-one with the female teens that identified as "he/him".

I am so thankful for this place! It helped my family, greatly! They are fairly new and accepted my insurance. They were great to work with. The first week was a challenging adjustment for my family but once we put our trust into the team at Juniper it made things easier. I also loved that they offered equestrian therapy and did regular outing activities.
