NEVER GO HERE! – To be fair I didn't want to spend the $500 to get my hair cut, so I opted to get it cut by a junior stylist. However, the owner and master stylist Julien Farel was there to supervise and help with the entire process. Love the color but hate the haircut – Julien Farel is a great salon for color. Peter does a wonderful job at painting on highlights and at matching the color to your skin tone. Everytime I go to the salon I'm happy with my highlights and continually go back. The blowouts after I get my hair colored are inconsistent; some of the assistants do a fantastic job; others are not great. But I have not been happy with my haircuts. Warmth and Talent in high-end salon – I am not a New York socialite or in any way famous, but I found Julien Farel to be an outstanding salon with great people working there. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, not at all intimidating. Aidan is a superb colorist, Mary Lisa is a truly inspired makeup artist, and I tried three great stylists at different times -- Sophie, Fabien and Mayumi. I recommend all three. Julian Farel - A master at his craft!! – I had Julien Farel fixed a not so good haircut from another stylist. He was amazing. He made me feel at ease while he fixed each side with the greatest precision. I came home and played with my hair and everything fell into place and looked even better than when I left the salon. Amazing – I started going to JF Salon a year ago after following my colorist from Frederic Fekkai Salon. I was skeptical at first and thought that I would give it a try as I could always go back to Frederic?s. One visit and I was hooked not only was I treated well the staff was warm and friendly, which is a far cry from Frederic Fekkai Salon. I never have to wait my hair always comes out perfect and you never feel rushed, which is something I never experienced. Aimee

Even the apprentices are great! – Last night I went to one of their teaching classes to got my hair cut by an apprentice for $15. For that price, they could've given me a mullet and I wouldn't have had much to complain about. Instead, a team of stylists being taught by a principal stood behind me and carefully critiqued my hair before all else. Fabulous cuts, fabulous color, fabulously expensive – After my first hair cut at Julien Ferel with Elvin, people kept asking me if I'd lost weight. It may sound absurd, but the haircut really did make me look 10 pounds lighter.
