Man this place is the worst!! Came here between 2019-2021 and it doesn't get more unprofessional then this. After completing my 12 step and showing up for weeks(while paying each time for a class I wasn't even benefiting from) I was told by Karene or whatever his name is that I have more "work to do". I called in the Taylorsville court for all of us to appear and these cowards didn't even show up and I got my case dismissed. Worst experience ever. So in 2023 I was placed at JSS because I pled guilty to a DUI all because I couldn't prove I was having a medical crisis at the time that I had a small no damage fender bender. I was placed in the care of JSS by the Sandy Justice Court, to do probation as well as community service and ordered to pay yet another penalty on top of the fees to get my car back. A great place to be and go for help, court-ordered! It's not perfect, but what do you expect? Many people Judicial helps out are in desparate need of help. This is kind of a lower common denominator situation where you'll be expected to fulfill organizational protocol to meet rehabilitation and state standards. It's understandable and operates as it does but it's a beneficial group. Counselors are caring and trying to learn how to help and diagnose disorders. Obviously there are hoops to jump through,but you'll make it.
Should be a decent place for those who don't fear therapy will make then relive the trauma of being unable to protect themselves. So as long as you don't have that fear that makes therapy seem worse than death you'll be fine. And to clarify, my being able to admit that is a sign of progress that even if you are that way you to may eventually become brave enough to admit that.
