I recently moved and was told by a different electrician that the 220 outlet was sufficient for my ev car charger. Fortunately I was referred to Jose and he recommended a 220 plug that was built to handle the hours long at a time usage. Upon installing it, he noticed my wiring was 10 gauge which was not thick enough to carry the 38 amps. Also the 40 amp breakers likely wont trip if the wiring got too hot because the amps won’t get to 40+ which puts me at a huge fire risk.
