We no longer treat with them since my son was going into a DKA and the person who answered the phone, NOT even a doctor said call your primary doctor. It’s not diabetes related. This is after they demanded to speak with him even though he was half conscious. He ended up being hospitalized in the ICU for two days, then in house hospitalization for another 3 days. The doctors never ever come to first appointments on time but if you are not logged in they have to reschedule you. I have the texts where every appointment starting at 8 didn’t start until 830-845. They try to sell you on the dieticians who in some cases aren’t helpful for specific specialty issues and when you tell them that they can’t accept it. Better off elsewhere. Joslin thought they were always world renowned and could get away with it all. Their patient services are awful
My Doctor and the NPs I see are actually amazing. Only reason this place gets 2 stars. The staff is what isn’t worth the headache. No one ever answers the phone, the prior authorization department never does what they are supposed to do. I am constantly calling my insurance company to move things along, or figure out the problem, I shouldn’t have to do that. Awful experience. The nurse practitioners are wonderful but all the doctors try to do is sell you on pumps and CGMs, even when they are not needed. My A1C over the past 10 years has been between 5.6 and 6.6 - I have expressed that I have no interest in having something attached to me nor have I for the past 20 years; I even had them put that in my notes for my appointment.
