The doctor that I see is good except it's impossible to get an appointment. The rest of the clinical staff that I have worked with aren't very helpful. I was told recently that they can't get data from carelink. This surprised me, because my PCP can access it. They just don't live up to their reputation. Good luck trying to reach anyone, it seems like nobody is ever there.
After managing my T1D with the endocrinology department at a large hospital in Boston for 8 years, I moved to Joslin and have been SO pleased. The team approach with my NP and Endo allows me to have more frequent monitoring, visits and feedback, and I haven’t had to wait more than a month for an appointment which is huge! The pharmacy is also efficient and I’ve had my prior auths completed in a timely manner.
I have to unfortunately agree with others here in that while my physicians and NPs are great, it is IMPOSSIBLE to get admin tasks completed. My insurance company has been trying to obtain Prior Authorizations for weeks now and still no luck. Anything relating to prescription renewals, PAs, etc. is extremely delayed and obviously as diabetics we need these medications asap. I have been going to Joslin for the past 23 years and before Beth Israel took over, Joslin was the gold standard of diabetes care. Since being taken over, Joslin has become my actual worst nightmare, as well as so many others that I have spoken to that have shared in the same experience. Both my pump and CGM company reach out to Joslin for weeks on end trying to receive prior authorizations in which all attempts are completely unsuccessful, making it my responsibility to try and get into contact with Joslin and beg them to s... read more
