For health conscious and/or picky – Based on all the reviews thus far I think it is safe to say the food here is very good, always reliable. As for service, NOTE I have only dined here alone at the bar and have been happy with how I was served by the bartender. Did not get a snotty pretentious feeling but maybe this could be attributed to the fact that I am a female dining alone. I am so in love with this place that it is on my list of places to take out of town guests and will be certain to pay attention to the service give... read more

Fabulous food, snotty service – I love Josie's - I take all my out-of-town friends there when they visit NYC and they have all left satisfied. I have been to Josie's multiple times for brunch and dinner, and the food is consistently good. I've tried quite a variety of dishes - the angel hair pomodoro and tuna salad come to mind - and have been happy with every single one of them. The only gripe I have about Josie's is that the waitstaff is snotty. It's not that they're bad at their jobs - service is neither particularly quic... read more

DREADFUL WEEKEND SPOILER – For some satanic reason I thought of taking my boyfriend there for brunch this morning. He is currently nursing his bloated stomach cursing Josie and ME to all hell. For the two of us, this was a 50 dollar breakfast. This is what we paid last week in Palm Beach's Daniel Boulud restaurant. Boulud is a top 5 chef, this was a superb three-course brunch in a glorious setting. This is terrible. Worst breskfast burrito ever. Worst waitstaff. 1h30 hour total wait. IT S TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE

Mediocre organic – Organic is the only thing that makes this place running. There's nothing special about it. I ordered one of the salad entrees, and its was filling. The portion was not as generous especially the tuna salad, not at all. Service was fine, its a fairly big place, but its missing theme.

Best for selective diets! Delicious organic fare. – With a best friend who can't eat gluten, and a sister who is lactose intolerant, I'm always looking for restaurants that are accomodating for special diets, while not sacrificing taste. Josie's does just that. My gluten-free friend was delighted at the sauces listed along the side of the menu (highlighting which she could have) and my lactose intolerant sister just about flipped out at their non-dairy daily ice cream offering. I was just as satisfied and delighted at the de... read more

Disspointing – In spite of recent restaurant rennovation, there is a sense that the owners forgot to focus on one important thing, quality and service to the diners. The food was mediocre at best, and the staff was very much focused on "selling" rather than servicing. Overall, Josie's has lost it's appeal and has become another pretentious restaurant. I am hoping this can be improved and that the owner reads this column.

Incredibly rude but delicious – The food is catered towards your health and is delicious, but that won't help the mental state you'll be in after leaving. The crowd is pretentious and obnoxious, as are the waitstaff (and especially the hostess) and they're all crammed next to you. An assault on the senses, but really good dishes. Maybe get stuff to go and eat in the park instead?

Great Restaurant – Organic Food For Everyone! Great for Vegeterians, Vegans & Meat Eaters, too! Food was excellent, but slow from the kitchen. All food is cooked to order, so when it does come from the kitchen, it is hot & wonderful! Well worth the wait! A wonderful selction of fresh breads is brought around in a basket while waiting for dinner. Yum!

The Best in the West – I've been going to Josie's with my girlfriend for years. The food and service is always consistent and I never leave disappointed. There's a little bit of everything for everybody whether you want something light and fresh like a salad or a nice hearty meal like pasta or a hamburger. My favorites are the chili seared shrimp appetizer, Macadamia chicken salad, yukon gold potato dumplings, maple turkey breast wrap, seared yellowfin tuna burger and for dessert you have to do the lemon ribbon pie (if you'r... read more
