My go to barbershop whenever I'm in Chicago. The place is an institution. Filled with Black history and local characters. Prices are just high enough to keep the riffraff out; not that the owner would allow any thuggery in the shop anyway. She is a tough no nonsense cookie, that will give you a mean cut. Any barber in the place will give you a good haircut, but Dianne is extra special.

The first time I went Sir Lee cut my son's hair no problem. A few weeks later I go back and he wasn't there so Crystal Tanae cut it. My son started itching so I put alcohol around his hairline. Fast forward a few days later he has dry patches specifically where he got cut and lined up. Then he starts getting bumps everywhere, spreading all over his face. I got my hair cut by Diane on 11/18/2023, and was extremely pleased with the results. I was in the chair promptly at 9:30 (my appointment time), and she was very patient and helpful. She also taught me a little something about hair growth, which was great. I paid $40 for a bald fade, which I felt was reasonable, and though I brought cash (preferred method of payment), she did accept a Zelle transfer. I'll be back for sure, and I highly recommend this shop.
