Daytime triage nurse has zero compassion for anyone, cuts you off when you are speaking , asks you questions but doesn’t let you finish if it wasn’t an emergency we wouldn’t come here

I recently had an experience at the Joe Brant Hospital Emergency Centre and was very disappointed with the level of care. The nurses on duty seemed more focused on their phones than on the patients who were clearly in pain and distress. There was little to no compassion, empathy, or urgency shown when people were suffering and needed attention. It feels like this hospital is run more like a business than a place of care. It was the first time ever that we were in and out of an ER within less than 2 hours. We came after 5pm on a weekday for a stitch, and got out just after 630pm. We were ready to spend the night there given our experience with other hospitals. Amazing. Many thanks to the doctor and the nurses.

This ER has a tendency of sending people home, regardless whether they are in pain or not. My grandfather was brought to this ER with chest pain. He is a heart patient - and he was told to go to an emergency room by his family doctor. Upon entry, he waited for 4 hours. He was taken in, and asked about his symptoms. Not once was his medical history assessed, no tests were run, and no physical assessments were run. He was sent home at 5pm. At 11pm, he passed away.
