I had a 7 cm lipoma removed, and because of its size, the procedure had to be done under anesthesia. Like most people, I was a little nervous. I wondered if the surgeon would be able to remove it cleanly, how much it would hurt, how long the recovery would take, and whether I would be left with a large scar. I scheduled an appointment to discuss significant abdominal pain that I had been experiencing for months. During the visit, Dr. Lopez pressed on my abdomen for roughly 30 seconds and told me everything seemed fine. He then said something to the effect of, “If you really want it, I can refer you for imaging.” The interaction left me feeling dismissed and as though my concerns were being treated as an overreaction. Probably the most caring Doctor I have ever met. He takes time to listen to you and address your issues and explain everything to you.Step-by-step.He is very patient calm and kind. I had questions that should have been addressed to one of my other doctors. But he still listened to me and talked to me and told me to discuss things with them after we had finished our discussion.
