Dr Leon is an excellent rheumatologist whom I highly recommend. He takes time to listen to my complaints/needs and works out a treatment plan we both can agree on. I try to do my part by listing my issues ahead of appt (I tend forget otherwise ) so I can make most of my time with him. Referred to him for debilitating pain and a positive ANA from my primary doctor. With no x-rays done, no blood work drawn (at his office) and a very painful kidney punch while examining me, he told me it was anxiety, fibromyalgia, and that I needed to see a mental health counselor. Gave me pills for anxiety that I will not take and Cymbalta that has high suicide rates.🤔 🥴 No thank you. Rude. Sexist. And did not prepare equipment in a sterile manner.
I went to Dr. Leon with a dx of RA from a highly respected doctor in NYC. I simply needed to be started on treatment by a provider after moving. He told me I didn’t have RA, made excuses for all of my symptoms and told me I just needed to lose weight. He did 10 injections in my hands to relieve joint pain and swelling that he “couldn’t see” and diagnosed me with tendinitis. My symptoms had been present for more than 2 years.
