Dr. Chaves misdiagnosed me in early 2022. He told me I had STAGE 4 COLON CANCER. I was required to sign a document acknowledging same. He prescribed 12 rounds of chemotherapy, of which I completed 9 rounds. Throughout my ‘care’ he seemed averse to sending orders for follow up CT scans, or referrals to other physicians. I ended up with pulmonary embolisms as a result of the chemo, which landed me in a hospital bed. Likes that he sits and talks to his patients, but, the wait times are absolutley rediculous. We have seen him 3 times now and each time we have waited in the room for over an hour. Having cancer you already are not feeling well and having to sit and wait that lng is not ok. Not mentioning having other Dr. Appts scheduled that we have to miss due to the LONG WAIT TIME.
Excellent isn't good enough to describe the team my mom went through cancer twice and each time he got her through the worst of times....very consistent the appointments always on time .
He saved my husband's life, him and his PA Hong Cai. What a wonderful team anyone would want behind them when facing stage 4 cancer. They are wonderful at managing expectations and smart with treatment selection. He explained all of his decisions along the way and why he chose one over the other, what the long term effects could be.... And exactly what he said would happen, happened! Dr. Chavez, if you read these, thank you. You are exactly who we needed.
