I found Dr. Russell after researching RFA for a thyroid nodule and started watching him on You Tube. I liked what I heard. I had another surgeon closer to home, but was looking at all options. I chose Dr Russell as my surgeon bc he told me that he had done the most “scarless” thyroidectomies of any surgeon in the US which sounded very convincing. Choosing a surgeon was the most difficult decision I have ever had to make and it ended up being the worst decision I have ever made. Jonathan Russell gave me hypoparathyroidism because he removed one of my healthy parathyroid glands damaged the other two and couldn’t find the fourth. I’m taking 2000 mg of calcium and 0.5 µg of calcitriol every day and I can barely do act... read more

If you are thinking about or needing thyroid surgery LOOK NO FURTHER!!! :) There is no better surgeon than Dr. Russell. He takes the time to talk and listen, he couldn’t have more knowledge or better bedside manner and above all of that he’s an extremely skilled and thorough surgeon. If i had to do this process all over again i would use Dr. Russell 10000x over!
