My husband had two appointments, the first was a very quick once over and a shot with a follow up after an MRI. I didn’t have the best feeling after the first appointment but my husband wanted to see what he said about the MRI. Surgery was quickly suggested, with a quick turnaround too. Diagnosis was wrong and inaccurate. We got a second opinion and surgery was the last thing mentioned, a last resort. This was by Dr Mirrer in Warwick. Please go with a very open mind and go with your gut.
Despite having an X-ray showing that my friend's clavicle is displaced by >6mm with a mark showing the displacement and everything. This guy diagnosed a rotator cuff tear. "Here is a steroid you will be fine in a few days with PT" he said as she goes to the emergency room for the debilitating pain she was in after he manhandled her arm (with a misplaced bone in it) during her appointment. INACCURATE DIAGNOSIS - told us that my 14 yr old son would need a cast for 6 weeks for a complete fracture of his radius and ulna, that it was a clean break and not a big deal. Despite my son being in a lot of pain, he said my son could return to school with his arm wrapped in an ace bandage. Needless to say we took my son to Connecticut Children’s Medical Center for a second opinion and turns out the hospital xray image was taken wrong and that he needs to be put into a specialized cast immediately with a lever to move his ... read more
When my husband reaggravated an old injury to his knee, and waited several months for it to resolve, he finally went to our PCP for a recommendation and referral to an orthopedic surgeon. Dr. Piposar was at the top of the list. The referral was made and we heard from Dr. Piposar’s office within a couple of days. Orthopedic Partners in Niantic is a large practice with many doctors and many patients, but we were pleasantly surprised by the efficiency of their whole practice.
