It's been over ten years since I saw Dr. Hendricks, and I'm doing a review because I just recommended him to my sister who is dealing with depression and anxiety. Dr. Hendricks was the third psychiatrist I saw for my mental health. The first two were a waste of time and money, imo. So much so that I don't even remember their names. Dr. Hendricks was able to dial in my medications with slight dosage adjustments throughout the first 6 months of seeing him. I noticed night and day differences after my time with him ended.
Zero stars if possible. Saw him for chronic depression and ADHD. He implied that I “lacked motivation and will” and that he “didn’t believe that adults can have ADHD”. Refused to treat me, didn’t believe the diagnosis I had was a real one? and insinuated I was lazy.
If I could give dr. Hendricks 0 stars I would. I missed two appointments because his office called the day before to tell me he was out of office those appointment days. It seemed impossible to see him. When I finally made an appointment a year or so later I explained to him why I didn't see him and also expressed that I was assaulted and didn't want to talk about it yet and he said "damn " then started to belittle me and yell for not making appointments. Best doctor I’ve ever had! Most understanding and was not pushy whatsoever. He understood my fear of going back on meds and worked with me on that to get me to where I am today. I have worked with him for 5 years and can honestly say I wouldn’t have made it this far without him. Gave me the ability to heal and see things for what they really are. I hope to find someone like him in my new place. Thank you so much for everything!
