My son suffered a fracture to both his radius and ulna. Emergency treatment, including closed reduction, was done in the emergency room. We later had an appointment with Dr. Jon Thomson, a pediatric orthopedic surgeon. Despite the urgency, the earliest appointment we got was a week later — which is a long wait for a child with a fresh fracture. My brother had an appointment with this doctor, the doctor didn't even bring us in the room didn't even properly give an details on the surgery option or cast, all he said it would heal, he never mentioned to complications that may occur if he didn't do surgery, like not being able to rotate his arm if he didn't do surgery and just did a hard cast. I would give negative stars if I could. I broke my radius and ulna and went to John Thompson for help. He barely examined me and told me it would heal on its own with no rotational problems. He recommended surgery but only if I wanted to make my bone look cosmetically good(never mentioned any rotational problem). When I went to another doctor, I found out I’ll likely have permanent rotational problems in the future and won’t be able to rotate my arm past a certain point.
