Customer service is off the charts. Knowledgeable staff who go the extra mile to make sure you keep coming back. Inventory covers all the essentials and must-haves, though no Leica gear. But hey, this is Syracuse. I used to just buy all my gear from Amazon - no longer. Support your local businesses, especially if they are as awesome as Johnson Camera.

Stopped in to pick up a battery for my DSLR, staff on the phone was helpful and knew exactly the part I needed as well as the issues around compatibility with that particular camera. When I stopped into the store the staff person at the counter was helpful and found the part right away. It was cheaper than I had expected (about the same as Amazon's price). The store appeared well stocked and was clean. I'll be back again.

Imagine dropping your camera on a cement floor! Our granddaughter told us about Johnson Camera Shop and luckily it was just the lens. I bought a better lens to replace it. Very helpful and friendly service and great location.

Business response:

Thanks for the kind words!

I had such a great time today figuring out the basic features of a camera today. Who knew how important the ISO, shutter speed or F-stop, and aperture means. I can't wait to take some more listing photos. I'm sure I'll be taking a lot more classes from Lydia!

If you are looking to improve your photography and/or editing skills, I highly recommend a lesson with Lydia Johnson. I really appreciated that she followed an organized game plan so we didn't get side-tracked. She will meet you right at your level and explain things in a way that is easy to digest. I've had a few lessons from other photographers around town, and Lydia is the best. After our 1-hour lesson, I really felt equipped to succeed at my first job shooting real estate, and I did! My images were so much better than wh... read more
