You can not even call the Emergency Department to check on a patient status. Whoever is answering the phone sounds like they are not taking their job seriously. After they answer, they hang up instead of transferring you to a nurse, and after 5th time being transferred by the operator to Er still answering the phone and hang up the phone or sometimes they put you on hold for more than 30 minutes . Recently my partner experienced chest pains (which was actually a heart attack) and we went to suburban. Everyone was fantastic, and easy to talk to, and my stay for support was easy and I felt extremely comfortable with the environment and staff. We probably have a few more days till discharge, but we are 100% happy with the service. My one and only complaint is the parking fee, the cost is trivial compared to the alternative of not having care at all, but a full day at $12 dollars seems advantageous in a bad situation.
My daughter who has several chronic health conditions, went to the ER with abdominal pain and the registration person laughed at her. They then took blood but did no scans and sent her home, still sick and told her to “drink water” and told her to go to Children’s Hiospital because they couldn’t help her
