Best in the West Hamburgers This place has the best hamburgers-try the belt buster-when you want them piled high and it will fill you up if you can even finish it. The prices are very reasonable and they also have appetizers such as deep fried mushrooms or deep fried chicken gizzards! Wow an astronomical feast.
yummy pizza Johnny's is a great place to go to watch KU games... especially during the NCAA tournament. You have to get there early though because it gets pretty packed. They have really good pizza here, and pitchers of beer are usually really cheap. It's also a fun place to go out on the weekends, and sometimes they have live DJs.
Johnny's Tavern- Go for the Game It is a hole in the wall bar with great history, and embodies the spirit of Lawrence. We enjoy watching games here, and Rick, the owner, is a great guy! Their pizza is the best in town... burgers are ok. This is the place of choice for our end-of-the-year celebration at work too. Lots of fun!
Good local place Johnny's was smoke free before required by the city, so it's always been a favorite of mine. There's a great menu - I suggest a sandwich with some pepper cheese bites. A great KU hangout.

Huge location This Johnny's location was built a few years back out by Watson's Spa Superstore. It offers the same great food and service. Daily drink and food specials. A great place for a big group. Try the pizza - it's surprisingly good.
