Visitors to the French Quarter will find a wide variety of po-boy outlets. But you haven't eaten a great sandwich until you have tasted Johnny's Po Boy sandwiches! Johnny's is popular for its simple and uncomplicated menu. Packed in the middle of two large French breads, you will find fried food, deli meats, cheese omelets, ham and eggs, and the starch-o-rama or the french-fry po' boy. The guy dresses up the bread in the most unusual ways! Other hot favorites include chicken tenders, shrimp creole and red beans. In the cheap... read more

Instead of the Traditional.. GET THE JUDGE BOSETTA – Expect a line when you get here. But well worth the wait. Plenty of dining space in the back if the front tables are all taken (and they will be.) With well over 20 choices of amazing Po Boys you MUST check out Johnny's when in NoLa
Still the Best Po-Boy – What I loved about Johnny's is that they really try hard to please. They are so willing to correct any thing you want. If you are from another state they make you feel at home. When we went in, they were training new people. They were telling the po-boy maker to put more food on it. It was was falling off. They really mean business there. Good eats. If it isn't the way you want, go back up, they will fix it!....
Very good, but could be much better. A victim of its own success? – I ate lunch at Johnny's today, after reading great reviews on this site and others. When I arrived, I LOVED the unpretentious atmosphere and thought that the staff was very, very nice. An 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. I ordered a sausage po-boy, and my buddy ordered a shrimp po-boy. We both ordered gumbo, too. Overall, our food was above average. The bread for the po-boy was flaky and flavorful. Problem was, Johnny's skimped on the meat (shrimp on my buddy's and... read more
I am from New Orleans and love po-boys. This restaurant has the best po-boys in the city with a typical New Orleans casual laid back atmosphere. Sometimes the line seems long but it moves very fast. My favorite is the Roast Beef, however, I really love their muffalettas. The salads are fresh and plentiful. The employees are friendly, fun and courteous. I highly recommend Johnny's. I am planning on trying their breakfast as I hear that it is terrific as well.
A New Orleans must – My husband and I discovered this place about 15 years ago. They truly have the best po' boys I have ever eaten. Since then, we have been back many times to New Orleans, and we must always eat there at least once. The shrimp and oyster po' boy are the very best. We are going again in July, and this will be one of the first places we stop.
This place is a MUST! – There is a reason everyone says to go here.... The food was amazing! I would have eaten here every meal if I could. You have to stop here for breakfast or lunch.
New Orleans at its best – You will not get a better meal in New Orleans. Very New Orleans Very Big Very fantastic. The po boys are better than any I have had in the city.
thumbs up all the way – The crab po-boy rocks. Gumbo, gotta try it at least once to decide for yourself. Big portions for an okay price.
somethin for everybody – excellent selection of huge poboys served on good bread. they are big enough to split, if ya dont youll be totally stuffed..
