Barn dust in the milk where it tasted like the smell of a barn, it even felt gritty. I later tried water buffalo milk from the grocery store and it wasn't tasting like this, it was smooth and sweet. They made claims about their tech being amazing but it doesn't change that something was wrong and despite promising a replacement that fell through. They stopped answering. Now based on accounts surfacing it looks like their program exploits people and causes harm and I feel bad about supporting them.
I'd not heard of you until I saw you featured on the news. I am stunned that the government is forcing you to close down after all the good that you have done. Complaints: cut finger, fell off a ladder, RIDICULOUS!!! I am a farmer and these are every day accidents. Is there something that can be done to reverse this idiotic decision? I personally know a couple young people who have gone to this JVA. It saved their lives… I’m shocked to hear the ministry is planning to shut it down. My own son went to Portage a rehab program in Keremos 10 years ago. He went through the program but it was shut down shortly after he graduated. He had no support after leaving which was a scary place for a parent to be in. Thankfully my son stayed off drugs, but a number of others who were at portage with has since overdosed. BE AWARE. I support all programs that ensure people have the chance to recover from all addictions. This academy though is a far cry from anything reasonable. Peace Arch news has reported FORCED LABOUR, 56 HOUR WORKWEEKS, TALKING BANS (Not being able to talk to people of the opposite sex, or anyone outside your “group”) multiple injuries due to unsafe working practices and finally NO Worksafe BC coverage.
