My husband (transgender, AFAB) requires the removal of his breasts because the weight of his breasts has been putting pressure and tearing on his chest wall, and we've been told to have them removed. At the Mercy ER, Dr. Henson shoved us off and dismissed us, didn't do the same tests which were previously performed and suggested that my husband was just a psych case. We told him we'd do the surgery ourselves with a machete, because my husband needs to breathe - he said "Get out. Good luck."
