Run!! 100% on the money with what the previous reviews stated. This man is awful, do not seek help with John McMillian..he needs help himself! I found an amazing place(therapist and psychiatrist) in Warrenville that I now use. Not sure I can post the name on here to help those of you who need a new, ethical psychiatrist. If there's a way to DM me feel free and I'll share the info. You might be able to see it on my other reviews.
So I have to address all the negativity in the reviews. First people don't seem to realize Dr. McMillin isn't a social worker or a therapist. His whole intention is to diagnose you and correctly medicate you. That's what psychiatrists do. If you have problems beyond that your need to see a psychologist as well to discuss your problems. Dr. McMillin has always treated me nicely, and I've never had a problem with him. He billed me $328 for a 4 minute appointment. The coding said the appointment last too long in excess of 30 minutes. Also said he coded for smoking cessation which he always tries to talk about. In this appointment he asked if I was going to quit smoking cigarettes anytime soon. This was our tenth appointment and I don’t smoke cigarettes lol and he’s brought this up at every appointment; I vape. Should never be able to practice again
He is extremely rude and inpatient. He berates his patients for not remembering things. On my patient records he referred to me as irritable for being reserved in an unwelcoming environment. Extremely unprofessional like everyone else has noted.
