Dr. Nelson is the best doctor and I have talked to many doctors over the years due to my mother’s healthy issues. He is so caring and takes his time to explain the test results and what can be done to prevent an issue rather than just putting on a bandaid. Dr. Nelson is a nice guy who seems like he knows his stuff. I only saw him for an initial visit, but he was personable and knowledgable. I had no reason not to trust him. Which is why I find it so odd that his office staff is the worst I have ever experienced in my entire life. The customer service is nowhere to be found. There seems to be no training or incentive to offer any true service. These people are clearly trained with a bill collector mentality to be cold, unassuming, and deflective. 10,000 patients and 2 heart attacks in 10 years. No cardiologist can claim these phenomenal numbers. If you are interested in not dying from heart disease then consider Dr. Nelson. Unquestioningly, the foremost preventative cardiologist on the West Coast if not the entire USA. One of few Docs who is still altruistic. Signed a long time patient of Doc Nelson

I have been a patient of Dr. Nelsons for almost 20 years and highly recommend him as a cardiologist in general and especially for Lipid control issues. I had a heart attacks in 2000 and again in 2003. After the second one, I started with Dr. Nelson for his expertise with lipid control. He uses Boston Heart for blood analysis and this has been a great help in getting control of lipid issues. The staff is very friendly and organized. I had an issue with a medication that when I called and explained the issue to the staff they took care of the problem and I was able to pick up my medication. Dr Nelson took the time to explain my results and answer my questions.

With his attention to detail, he has brought my LDL down to 42 and got my HDL up to 44. Can’t improve much on that. Been under his care for 20 years.

Strange billing! Dr. John Nelsons office charges patients for certain tests at the time of appointment, before billing insurance. When I questioned office staff about this practice, office staff informed me I would be reimbursed if I overpaid, after insurance responsibility was taken care of. John Nelson is an excellent doctor. Through extensive testing and blood work Dr. John Nelson performs a great service. I do recommend Dr. John Nelson to friends, with an explanation of strange billing. 3 months trying to get an answer regarding health....I was told I could pick up medication at office...in 3 months I have been able to pick up one injection of Repatha due to the "office policy" of Wed and Fri 8-11 pick up time for meds....This was not told to me until 2 months in....I tried every way to get there during this time period and couldn't. No exceptions! The day I make it in on a Wed. at 8:00 no Repatha--due to holiday....however, I did get a call to remind me of my appt and copay!
