Great Landlord – John has been a great landlord. My fiancee and I started renting from him during the summer of 2010. He was very flexible with our move-in date and the start of rent payments. He also takes great care of his tenants and properties. He does regular pest-control, which my previous rental company did not. The apartment building has a security door outside, which is very nice. I locked myself out one day though and John drove over to let me inside when no one else was home.
Landlord retaliation? – Verbal warning to correct behavior, must correct behavior in 5 to 10 days. You may not evict until the 10 days is up IF behavior is not corrected. A landlord cannot evict you just because the woman upstairs complains. If the behavoir that warranted the verbal warning is corrected then the landlord cannot evict based on original warning.
