I'm not a red meat eater so I order the alfredo linguini. It is the best ever. I order this in most restaurants that we visit and none compare to John and Nick's. Service is great, the salad bar is fabulous. We have made John and Nick's our favorite Steak House in Des Moines.
My wife and I have been there once before and it was EXCELLENT, tonight was bad. We were they way early (maybe that was the issue) but I had ordered the steal de burgo special and was seriously disappointed. The back side of the steak had a big string of a tendon type, sinewy, piece of something that made me unable to finish the last third of the steak. My first time visit - very disappointed in the prime rib - loaded with sinew and fat. Hard to cut a bite without a struggle. Waiter forgot to bring plates for the appetizer, they only brought 2 menu's for 3 of us. Waiter forgot to bring us the bread - offered to send it home at the end of the meal. Not the quality of food or service for a class restaurant
