I had a traumatic experience with the previous doctor. She failed twice in putting in an IUD. She finally got it the third time. Dr. Olson had to remove the following year when I went to him for my yearly exam as it wasn't in place. He put one in today (I was a ball a nerves waiting for the procedure.) He had that IUD in in no time with very little pain. THANK YOU DR. OLSON!
I highly recommend Dr. Olsen, he is professional, caring, & kind. Made me feel comfortable throughout the entire appt. Anyone would be lucky to be in his care.
J K became my ob after having a miscarriage. I had 2 kids after that and would trust him every time I have a need in his field. He knows what he is doing. It is sad he left cedar rapids. If I had any serious problems I would probably take a drive to make me feel 100% confident to get his opinion.
I have seen Dr. Olson several times in the past year. He will be performing a davinci hysterectomy on me at the end of this month. I trust him 100%. Typically I would never go to a Male doctor but he makes me feel totally at ease. Listens to my concerns and explains everything to me in great detail. Some might think he's not very personable but I think it's because he is so calm and laid back. Which is exactly the kind of doctor I want performing surgery on me.
Let me start by saying I have heard he’s a phenomenal DR from his peers and nurses and believe he knows his stuff but as far as being personable and understanding he fails miserable at this. He made me so full of anxiety when I was contracting at 19 weeks pregnant by saying “If I was your DR I would have told you no more kids” mind you I cleared this with my dr. The rest of my pregnancy and delivery I was so scared of what may happen. Of all the OBs I saw when I saw him I cringed.
I'm always seen within 10 minutes of arriving. The nurses as well as Dr.Olson are very kind and informative. Being a FTM, I was nervous in the beginning but they have helped make this a very positive experience for me. I would definitely recommend to all family & friends.

Dr JK is highly skilled surgeon. He handled my labor and delivery. I had a C Section and I hardly have a scar (3 months ago). His bedside manner is ok but the nurses that work for him are fabulous. I highly suggest seeing Dr Olson if you are delivering a baby. Thumbs all up!
