Would be a higher review if the parking wasn't so shit and outdated. But the lymphoedema/physio clinic staff is wonderful.
I suffered lymphoma and am in remission but have lived with the results for over 51/2 years with non union femure. I had major surgery with an amazing team led by Prof Balough. All the professional were caring, considerate, I could not of asked for a more caring anaethesiast and attending nurses and surgery peoples. I felt safe and in great hands. I cannot speak highly enough of the caring, compassionate and hard-working staff at the John Hunter Hospital. I have been here a few times lately, thankfully not as a patient, in a supporting role for relatives and NDIS participants. The staff have treated the patients with the very best care.
Arrived Cessnock hospital 2.30pm Saturday with chest pains. After examination & results it was decided to transport me to John Hunter hospital. 2 hours later I'd been examined, accessed & had 3 stents inserted. A big thank you all staff especially Dr Boyle, Crystal, Alana & Megan. 4 days later & here I am resting & moving forward. Food was terrible but then again your not there for the dining experience.
Before I go into it, I just want to make it clear that this is no fault of the amazing nurses and staff at JHH. Their care and dedication is very evident and they all deserve a pay rise. The bed situation though… the fault and failure of a broken health system and government. After being put into fast track, I was confined to a tiny room in fast track for the entire day whilst hooked up to an IV, sitting in an extremely uncomfortable chair, because not one bed was available.
