We would like to sincerely thank the nurses in the trauma ward for the exceptional care our son received during his stay over the past couple of weeks. There was one nurse in particular, we believe her name was Emily (brunette with a ponytail) who truly stood out. She was consistently kind, caring and compassionate towards us while we were visiting, and she treated our son with such patience, respect and attentiveness. I can't believe this hospital nearly 7 hours just to see a doctor while my daughter had a letter from her GP telling them how serious it was and they just didn't listin they sent her to another GP there and they sent her back the emergency and still waiting they are not doing there job right at all up there this is so not right how many times are they going to allow this to happen something needs to done about this so not right even the GP access doctors said the same thing they are not doing there job right at the emergency... read more

I Broke my Arm back in March 2025 I have a spiral fracture humerus and it is getting worse I have had my surgery Cancelled twice and they forgot to send me to a pre op clinic and now they are saying they think I have Asthma and I have had Asthma all my life I am under a lung specialist at John Hunter hospital they can't keep changing my surgery Date my Arm is so swollen now I am getting pins and Needles and tingling down my Arm and the Drs just don't care I have told them that this is playing up with my mental health my GP h... read more

Never had an issue, only part I have issues is calling the maternity and gynaecologist department, when I’ve been on the line for over an hour I had to use their call back services, but they never call you back. And yes phone number is right. This needs to be fixed.

I want to thank the Urology staff at John Hunter Hospital. My nephew recently passed away there. The staff were extremely kind and thoughtful. They were so accommodating to all visiting family members. They even assisted his mother in getting emergency care when she became ill. I was so impressed by their compassion and professionalism.
