Arrived at A&E at 12 noon with extremely high blood pressure readings. Saw a Dr at 6:30 pm then made to go back to the general waiting room. At 9:00 pm despite 2 requests and running out of time to catch a train home, completely ignored. Is that how NSW Health treats 71 year old patients? Left at 9:05 pm in disgust without any treatment. Shameful, John Hunter Hospital emergency department !

I’ve just spent a day at the Interventual Suite at John Hunter. Had a DSA procedure. Everyone was amazing! Can’t remember everyone’s names, but the Team were all so lovely, kind, caring. One Nurse stands out in particular. Her name is Sally. Please pass on my heartfelt thanks.

I’ve had one of the worst experiences at John Hunter Hospital. I arrived at the Emergency Department at 5:00 pm yesterday and wasn’t discharged until 9:00 am the next morning. That’s 16 hours of waiting. After all that time, I was simply given one packet of Panadol for pain relief and sent home. I waited 16 hours for a packet of Panadol. That is completely unacceptable.
