Someone asked for a cup of water at night and the staff told him to "bend over [the water fountain] and suck with your lips. I bet you know how to bend over and suck, right?" Horrific. Literally like the psych wards and prisons you see on TV. If you're thinking of seeking help here, think again. Filthy, with no way to get clean - the bathroom was out of soap and the nurses didn't even give me hand sanitizer when I asked for it. PLEASE STAY SAFE. I was trying to escape a dangerous trafficking situation and self reported at San Leandro General. Instead of connecting me with resources they shipped me off to this evil psych ward, it literally felt like I was being experimented on or trapped in some sick game. Ranging from things like them intentionally hiding information from us patients, messing up the computers, and speaking in code. This happened a couple months ago. (I don't remember when exactly.) I went to this hospital because I felt suicidal. I never harmed myself physically before but my mental health was horrible. When I arrived at the hospital, I was given some clothes before going to the main room of the hospital. It was really big and a lot of people were in there. I noticed that many patients were sitting on these recliners covered by these white sheets that are supposed to be "blankets". Some were sleeping, some were watching TV. Some of the... read more
