Do your homework, he destroyed the level operated on in my lumbar spine. He sold it as a simple surgery and no bones would have to be cut, a 1 to 1 1/2"incision. He ended up making a 3 1/2" incision, hemilaminectomy, facectomy since he took the wrong approach for a far lateral herniation. Facet ended up fracturing and needed additional surgeries, left with severe sciatica. Wish I never let him operate on me.

My deepest thanks to Dr. John Cantando, Neurosurgeon for giving me a spine I've never known. Just 4 weeks, 3 days post op and I just knocked out 1 1/2 miles on the treadmill, 10-20 second held squats and my daily PT exercises. I'm being super careful but what a difference!! Between congenitally shortened pedicles, a ruptured disc and severe spinal stenosis I was a mess. I'm so glad I followed my gut and chose a great Neurosurgeon versus Orthopedic for this surgery.

Dr.Cantando performed a pituitary mass removal operation on my husband just the other day. I can't say enough good things about this doctor & his team! Pre-surgery, he was so informative, so professional, so personal. As a family, we felt we knew exactly what was going on, what to expect, & what were the possible outcomes. We feel blessed that Dr. Cantando was the doctor on call when we entered the emergency room, & that he ended up performing the brain surgery. Have only good things to say.

Dr. Cantando did an Urgent ACDF of my cervical spine. Very good bed side manner and compassionate care. Even assisted me in receiving services my insurance would not cover.

I had a level one cervicalnfusion done by dr. Csntando. I had gotten four additional opinions before I decided to officially chose him. He was so great at communicating everything and made me feel very comfortable with the surgery. He is extremely knowledgeable and he was very professional.

My 85 year old father had three appointments with the Dr. the first time they called and said we don't want the Dr. sitting around an hour for your father so we were left with no other choice but to cancel as we could not make it easier on the Dr. Next appointment canceled for surgery Today my father had an appointment at 10:30 they called at 9:45 and said canceled due to surgery. I said my father is on his way he horrific office no compassion whatsoever
