hi this is fine
Great local hangout.. – You're living in the town where people don't eat, and you want comfort food - what do you do? Head to Joe's. This is good American food, and they stay open late, I think dinner 'ends' around 10pm and the 'appetizers' 11pm, but they're always pouring those strong drinks at the bar. I love that the wait staff are wearing shirt and tie, and look like they might be the original staff from 1928. You can eat an absurdity for $30 there - and I don't advise it. We took home at least the next days' lunch and d... read more
Breakfast sandwich was delicious. – The California avocados made this sandwich, one crispy sourdough. Egg cooked just right- fried with a bit of runny yolk still! And their homemade salsa was very good. My in laws got the huervos Mexican which was big enough to share and include homemade tortillas. My wife had the Benedict, which had great hollandaise sauce. She commented it was one of the best sauces she's ever had in an eggs bene, which is quite a compliment from a woman who has eggs bene any chance she can get.
Suprisingly good Southern food – Didn't know what to expect and just went in for dinner. Had a drink and the Special of the night... Ham Hocks! Wow! Being from Louisiana originally, it needed some added kick (i.e. Tabasco), but the ham and beans were EXCELLENT!
Worst SERVICE EVER!!! – Okay sooo... we're from Los Angeles and we went up to Santa Barabara for the weekend. Beautiful City... we had a great time wine tasting, checking out the scenery and fun! Until our last day there... we stopped in at Joe's Cafe... it looked like a nice little place... convenient... roomy Until we sat down and had the worst service I have EVER had in my life! Our waitress/server was non communicative.... she didn't say a word to us except "are you ready to order?" EVerytime we would ask her for this or... read more
Best Eatery in Santa Barbara – My husband and I love this place. Every time we visit SB we eat there at least 3 times in a weekend. Great great food, stiff drinks, great breakfast, great night scene. Love it.
best pour – Order the lemmondrop and for about 6 $ you will get about three drinks worth! I go there all the time becuase you get the best value liquor wise for your buck! Most Santa BArbara people either start or finish thier nights at Joe's
Meet At Joe's – Though we saw a nostalgic looking sign reading Joes Cafe from our hotel across State Street, we werent compelled to eat there until after our Santa Barbara Trolley Tour. Once the guide noted that Joes was the oldest eatery in Santa Barbara, we were sold. Anyplace that stays in business for almost 80 years has to be doing something right And they are. Old school bar and dining booths in dark woods and old school menu filled with dark meats. Prime rib, Tri-Tip, French Dip and one of the many specials on Thursda... read more
