I want to be objective and fair in this review.I had an appointment with Dr. Joel J. Smith on February 6, 2026, at 9:15 a.m. After waiting to be seen, the doctor entered the room accompanied by three students. I had no problem authorizing their presence; however, at no point was I actually examined by the specialist himself.Dr. Smith only stated that he had reviewed my MRI, that I was “not a surgical patient,” and that I needed a brace. I don't recommend Dr. Joel Smith for ankle surgery . My bones were not properly aligned , I would have used a bigger plate to straighten the bones better. I'm not a doctor however I did end up going to another doctor who explained well why I continued to have pain . X-ray rooms are big eye openers.

I had some complicated fructures and a lot of recovery time. He and his staff was and is there for me the whole time. Very energetic and kind person. His knoledge and precision is fascinating as He cares for His patients like no other. I’d recommend Him to anyone.

Wonderful doctor. Takes time to explain procedures and options. Skilled at his job and friendly bedside manner. Did my elderly mother's partial hip replacement surgery flawlessly after a tragic fall that broke her hip. She is 79 now, is walking without a cane and living wonderful life!
