My husband, David, has been under Joel's care for about a year now and had a spinal fusion surgery (L3-S1) done back in April 2023. We've had nothing but a great experience with Dr. MacDonald, Leslie and his staff BEFORE and AFTER the surgery. They were very attentive, caring and answered all of our questions and concerns with patience and kindness. Dr. MacDonald saved my life with a 12 hour surgery to put my spinal cord back together after I fell rock climbing. His skills made it possible for me to walk again. No surgery can fix damage to the spinal cord 100% and it is amazing what he could do for me. I will forever be in his debt and I am thankful for his knowledge and experience.
Doesn't listen when you tell him what your issue is and go ahead and does it back surgery that he swears is going to help your pain which all he did was cause more pain didn't solve the issue that was happening in the first place. This doctor needs to retire he doesn't listen and on a follow-up instead of finding out what's going on he just automatically says you need a spine stimulator no manners whatsoever does not treat his patients good no good bedside manner would not recommend him for a dog or even a rodent
He did my husband’s surgery 10 days ago. My husband had a complication that caused him to bleed clots when he used the restroom and then have to be catheterized for an additional three days to fix this complication. The injury that causes this was due to a catheter from surgery being pulled wrong. Because of this and his back, he has been in horrible pain since we left the hospital and has cried for the last two days from the pain. He doesn’t sleep for more than an hour at a time and lack of rest is making healing go slower.... read more
