My mother and I came across Joe Hamer Salon by chance while she was staying at a nearby hotel. We decided to walk in without an appointment, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions we’ve made. I booked a men’s haircut with Ryan at Joe Hamer Salon while visiting from Idaho for a wedding. I had grown my hair out on purpose, expecting a clean, sharp cut from what seemed like a high-end salon. Their website says prices are based on time and technique, which gave me confidence. Ryan was polite and took his time, but the result didn’t reflect skill or experience. I am so happy that in my trip to San Francisco I discovered this place! I just needed a haircut + coloring, but it's always scary to get it at an unfamiliar place, especially before an important event. I got super lucky that I got April who made my hair look really smooth, classy and shiny, and made a ton of difference with how confident I felt at an event. This review is for Garrett @ Joe Hamer. I’ve been looking for a colorist to highlight my hair for a while in SF, and am very particular also about how my hair is cut. He is perfection!!! He’s so detailed, thoughtful and does insane work. I can’t say enough positive things about Garrett. I will recommend him to my family and friends!! Feel so lucky to have found him!!
