Doctor Rau was the Carson-Tahoe Internist for my ninety-eight year old mom who had broken her hip. Prior to hip replacement surgery, he called us (we live in Wyoming) to thoroughly explain the potential risks of surgery as well as the team’s strategy for combatting her intense pain. During and following surgery, Dr. Rau called us three times to give us periodic updates. Says it all
When I first saw him, he said there were no surgeons in the Reno/Carson area who could perform the surgery because it was 'complicated and major.' He had nothing else to say.When I saw him again, 7 months later, only because of a referral by my insurance company, he said HE could do the surgery. What??? When did he become so competent that no other surgeon could perform it? I will never see him again. Too arrogant and full of himself.
He is arrogant and a poor surgeon..as his surgical abilities are lacking to say the least….Spare yourself and find another doctor….
Dr. Chavez has sincere interest in your well-being, lifestyle and home life. He offers realistic suggestions to help you improve your overall health. He explained my condition fully and what to expect in the coming years. He took the time to explain everything fully and did not rush through it. Very easy to talk to and I highly recommend Dr. Chavez.
Haven’t been to a Specialist in a long time. Found Dr. Chavez easy to talk to, kind and extremely knowledgeable. Was able to set me on a new path to lower my BP, which hasn’t been this low in the last 20 years. Highly recommend to anyone needing a Specialist!
On third followup visit, with my wife present, he admitted he screwed up by poor planning, and did not have/use a large enough mesh to fix my inguinal hernia properly. I was still swollen up like a large grapefruit in my scrotum, too. He did not use a drain on me, ouch. A repeat surgery was required (NOT HIM). NO WAY will I recommend him. Beware!
